Founded in the city of Parma, Italy, in 1916. This small perfume factory's first fragrance, Colonia, was originally used in men's handkerchiefs and later became a personal scent for men. After closing in the 1940s, the brand was revived in the 1990s by three Italians: Paolo Borgomanero (of La Perla), Diego Della Vale (of Tod's), and Luca Montezemolo (of Ferrari). Acqua di Parma was acquired in 2001 by LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Moet Hennessy).
