Find Your Perfect Scent
Perfume experts, designers, and fashion-savvy women reveal the secrets to discovering the fragrances that suit your style.

Flirty & Feminine
If you're the flirty and feminine type who favors sheer, playful dresses, there's a good chance that you'll be attracted to fresh, fruity florals with notes of apple, grapefruit, and raspberry. Model Anais Pouliot's favorite spritz is the sparkling Yves Saint Laurent In Love Again, which she wears with Dolce & Gabbana dresses, "when I need to look really chic." For a new fall option, try DKNY Be Delicious Eau So Intense, with apple, cucumber, and grapefruit, or Jo Malone's sweet-smelling Blackberry & Bay.

Flirty and Feminine Perfumes
- Chanel Coco Noir, $98, Chanel
- Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay, $60, Jo Malone
- Elizabeth Arden Red Door Aura, $32, Elizabeth Arden
- Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme, $98, Bloomingdale's

Dark Beauty

Capture the sensual allure of Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel this fall with Coco Noir, the latest in a coveted wardrobe of Chanel fragrances. The scent embodies a soft, mysterious blend of sandalwood, Indonesian patchouli, bourbon vanilla, and tonka bean -- woven together as artfully as her signature tweed jackets -- and bottled in a dark-as-night glass design, with a touch of gold. Her evenings in Venice and visions of the Orient inspired this dark debut. But, as its creator Jacques Polge says, a new scent "can only exist because of those that came before it." ($98 for 1.7 oz.; chanel.com)

Ready to Wear
There's more to a designer fragrance than scent alone. Here, the recipes for five of the season's hottest house blends.

Coco Noir by Chanel
Coco Chanel visited Venice often and was struck by the way the opulent gilt interiors contrasted with the velvety blackness of the city at night. In honor of the "equation of black and bright" in Chanel's designs, perfumer Jacques Polge sought to create a "baroque fragrance" that would "bring radiation out of darkness" with lively pink peppercorns and "minty" rose geranium leaf foregrounded against a luxurious profusion of woody and musky notes layered at the scent's base, including sandalwood, frankincense, and tonka bean.

Meet the LBS (Your Little Black Scent)
The color of a perfume often signals the mood it evokes. So it makes sense that given fall's wickedly sensual palate, things are getting darker. Take Chanel's latest creation Coco Noir, $130: Its onyx bottle, a first for the brand, looks as mysteriously sexy as the aroma smells. The trend continues with Tom Ford Jardin Noir and Lady Gaga Fame.

Beyond smelling amazing, these new perfumes have incredible perks -- starting with the power to make a man want to linger within inches of your body for hours on end.
