The bottle, designed by Oscar de la Renta himself, was conceived much like a dress, with attention to detail and a high level of craftsmanship. Layering Fragrances
The entry-level way to mix is either by spraying two single-note perfumes on top of each other, or by adding a dash of one to a perfume that already contains that note. ... Some women swear by their own advanced version of layering. "I prefer the freshness of a light fragrance during the day, and in the evening I like a scent to be a bit heady," says Cayli Cavaco Reck, a fashion consultant whose blog is Style Sovereign. "But because I tend to like fragrance in the same family, I can generally layer them on top of each other, starting with the lighter one in the morning and then touching up in the evening with a stronger scent." For running around the city. she starts with the ladylike floral Live in Love by Oscar de la Renta, and eases into evening by spraying the sexy, powdery Agent Provocateur on top. This combination works especially well because both scents contain amber and musky base notes: Agent Provocateur picks up where Live in Love leaves off.

Dominican Republic - Lily of the valley -- found in the designer's private garden -- is a central ingredient in Oscar de la Renta Live in Love Eau de Parfum, $98. Visit Oscar de la Renta's pristine gardens at his lush island escape in Punta Cana, Dominican Repulic, or his country home in Kent, Connecticut, and a couple of things will become apparent: First, if the man ever gave up fashion, he could have a brillant career as a landscape designer; second, that glorious fields of lily of the valley (often referred to by its French name, muguet) are an unrivaled favorite. It's not surprise, then, that the Dominican-born designer chose the distincly sweet green flower as the centerpiece for Live in Love, his first signature perfume in a decade. "My newfound outlook on life is to live in love -- with someone [his wife, Annette] and with nature," he chimes.
